SRU PHYSICAL EDUCATION MAJOR NAMED RECIPIENT OF $1,000 COLETTE S. GARRISON SCHOLARSHIP

          SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Tiffiny B. Thompson a senior physical education major from Vienna, Ohio, has been named recipient of Slippery Rock University’s $1,000 Colette S. Garrison Scholarship.

          The scholarship was established within the Slippery Rock University Foundation, Inc., by Dr. Colette S. Garrison, a 1953 SRU graduate now retired in Alabaster, Ala.  The award is open to all full-time SRU physical education majors with a minimum 3.0 grade-point average.

          Thompson is studying to be a health and physical education educator and is involved in SRU’s Physical Education Teacher Education Club and Phi Epsilon Kappa, the PE honorary. She also serves as head coach for a junior high school women’s basketball team near her hometown.
