‘NEW WORKS IN A NEW SPACE’ IS THEME FOR SRU FACULTY/GUEST DANCE CONCERT

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – “New Works in a New Space” is the theme for this year’s “Faculty and Guest Artist’s Dance Concert” presented by Slippery Rock University’s dance department.

The performance, set for 8 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Grove City [Pa.] High School Auditorium Theater, will feature new works choreographed and performed by university dance faculty Nora Ambrosio, Jennifer Keller, Ursula Payne and Melissa Teodoro. Visiting dance faculty member Lani Fand Weissbach will offer a recently choreographed duet performed by herself and SRU dance alumna Elizabeth Spadafore of Meadville.

Featured guests for the concert include the Pittsburgh-based modern dance company LabCo under the direction of Gwen Hunter Ritchie, who will also perform with Keller. Highlighting the program will be a collaborative work created and performed by SRU dance alumnae Sally Anne Sherman and Heather Konopka-Gerlach, independent Pittsburgh dance artists.

Tickets at the door are $5 general admission; $3 for students. Proceeds benefit the Lucy Isacco Sack Department of Dance Scholarship Fund.  For additional information call 724-738-2774.
