KALEIDOSCOPE TOP CHOICE OUT OF 112
PROPOSALS FOR ARTS FESTIVAL NAME
Pa. -- With unanimous ayes, Kaleidoscope topped Bravo, Encore,
Tapestries and Collage to become the new name of the Slippery Rock
University Regional Arts Festival. A naming contest was open to the
of Worth Township and Linda Breen of Robinson Township both entered
Kaleidoscope, which got the nod from the Slippery Rock Regional
Arts Alliance “because it best implies the spirit of the
spring festival and lends itself to logo design,” said Dr.
Diana Dreyer, assistant to the dean.
The College of
Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts, which sponsored the naming
competition, gave Wallace a woven Slippery Rock throw, a Java City
Mug and $5 in coupons. Breen said she wanted Wallace to receive the
gifts because Wallace has lived in the community 24 years. The
college received 112 proposals.
