PUBLIC
INVITED TO PROMOTE GREEN HOLIDAY AT SLIPPERY ROCK
UNIVERSITY
SLIPPERY
ROCK, Pa. – Make environmentally friendly gifts for the
holidays such as bird feeders, candles or wrapping paper. Pick up a
booklet of helpful hints for promoting a green holiday, in and
outside your house, or sample homemade baked goods.
It’s all part of a winter Earth Day event 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tuesday [Dec. 3] at Slippery Rock University’s University
Union. Activities are open to the public.
Students
organized “This Holiday Season… SAVE (Student
Awareness for Our Valuable Earth) to promote an environmentally
conscious holiday, Michele Gauger, a sustainability graduate
student from New Columbia, says. They hope the holiday marketplace
becomes an annual event.
“We
are promoting more joy and less stuff this holiday,” Gauger
says.
Several
local vendors will sell pillows, fleece hats, gloves, knitted
items, lotions and soap. Call 724-723-2273 for more
information.
