Alumna becomes coordinator of Wyoming training center

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Jennifer Lasik, a 1999 Slippery Rock University graduate, is the new coordinator of The South Lincoln Training and Event Center in Kemmerer, Wyo. Her duties will include working to secure funding for the center and scheduling business conferences, weddings and banquets. She starts Oct. 1.

Lasik became enamored with the region during an August visit with her family, especially after a fossil dig at Fossil Butte National Monument.

"For some reason, I have been drifting toward the west. My family saw that as a bonus," she said.

The 17,000-square-foot center includes four conference rooms and seats 450 for dining and 600 for a performance event.

A Milwaukee native, Lasik received a political science degree from SRU and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Slippery Rock University is Pennsylvania's premier public residential university.
