SRU dance graduate makes appearance on ABC's 'GMA'
Rebecca Langguth, a 2002 Slippery Rock University graduate who earned beauty pageant honors in November, has been invited to appear on ABC's "Good Morning America."
The exact date of her GMA appearance has not been set, according to a story in the Altoona Mirror. Langguth and Sophia Medairy, from Hollidaysburg, made the trip to New York City to meet with GMA staff in late January.
Langguth, who majored in dance at SRU, owns Blair Dance Academy. She won the Overall Most Beautiful Supreme title in the East Coast USA pageant in Harrisburg last fall. Medairy, one of Langguth's 375 dance students, won the Runway Supreme title.
In addition to her dance studio work, Langguth is a national-level adjudicator for several dance/talent competitions.
The national broadcast of GMA is seen locally on Pittsburgh's Channel 4.
Languth, from Altoona, is also among those nominated to receive a 2010 SRU Alumni Association "Young Alumni Award." The recipients will be announced in March and presented their awards in April.
