A good feature photo
and interview opportunity exists Thursday-Saturday when Slippery
Rock University hosts the 31st National Women’s
Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, with 125 players from around the
country competing. The Pittsburgh-based Steel City Starz competes
at 9 a.m. Thursday. All games are free and at SRU’s Robert N.
Aebersold Student Recreation Center.
Games are 9 a.m. to
5 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, with the championship
game at 1 p.m. Saturday. The USA Junior National Team, new to the
tournament and comprised of high school wheelchair players from
around the county, competes against adult players in the tournament
at 11 a.m. Saturday.
