SRU Flute Choirs plan winter program with children in mind

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Parents looking for entertainment for their preschool- and elementary-age children in the depths of winter are invited to join the Slippery Rock University Flute Choirs for some light entertainment at 2 p.m. Feb. 27 in Swope Music Hall.

The choirs, under the direction of Stacey Steele, assistant professor of music, will present "A Musical Journey" that takes the entire family around the world - musically.

Titles to be presented during the program include "Global Village Samba" and "Jungle Dance."

Face painting and a bake sale will be available in the lobby. Profits will be used to help SRU flute students attend the 2010 National Flute Association Convention in California in August.

Admission is $5 for adults and $1 per child. Larger donations will be accepted and appreciated.
