Holocaust Memorial curator presents 'Nazi Medicine, Eugenics
and the
Holocaust'
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Susan Bachrach, curator of special
exhibits for the United States Holocaust Memorial Exhibit, will
discuss "Nazi Medicine, Eugenics and the Holocaust" at Slippery
Rock University March 6 as part of the University's 13th annual
Holocaust Remembrance Program. Her traveling exhibit "Deadly
Medicine Creating the Master Race" is on display through March 18
at Pittsburgh's Andy Warhol Museum.
The
free SRU lecture, sponsored by the political science department, is
at 4 p.m. in Miller Auditorium.
Her
previous exhibits include "Liberation 1945," "NAZI OLYMPICS: Berlin
1936," "Hidden History of the Kovno Ghetto" and "Flight and
Rescue."
Bachrach's "Tell Them We Remember: The Story of the Holocaust"
received the American Library Association's "1995 Best Book for
Young Adults" award.
She
earned her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College and her
doctorate in modern European history from the University of
Wisconsin.
She
joined the museum in 1992 as a historian and writer for the
identification card project. Her work included researching and
helping chronicle the life of one Holocaust victim. The cards are
distributed to visitors as they enter the permanent exhibition.

Holocaust program.
