COMEDIAN
MITCH HEDBERG TO BRING ONE-LINERS TO SRU FEB.
23
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Comedian Mitch Hedberg, best
known for his shy persona, formal staccato diction and one-liner
observations, will headline a 9 p.m. Feb. 23 one-man performance at
Slippery Rock University.
Hedberg
is a frequent guest on CBS’ “Late Night with David
Letterman” and NBC’s “Late Night with Conman
O’Brien.”
The
campus program, organized by SRU’s University Program Board,
will be presented in the University Union. Tickets, now on sale at
the union, are $8 for students, $16 for the general
public.
Born
in St. Paul, Hedberg began performing stand-up in Florida, then in
Seattle, San Francisco and New York City. He performed at the 1996
“Just for Laughs Montreal International Comedy
Festival” which landed him his first visit to
“Letterman.” Time Magazine included him as one of the
next generation of comedy stars, and he has written, directed and
stared in his own independent feature film titled “Los
Enchiladas!” which premiered at the 1999 Sundance Film
Festival.
He
has also been seen in his own “Comedy Central
Presents,” half-hour special, and on Fox TV’s
“That 70’s Show.” His first CD was titled
“Strategic Grill Locations” and his “Mitch All
Together” DVD/CD has sold more than 100,000
copies.
