SRU adds new leadership track to masters in secondary education

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Starting fall semester, Slippery Rock University's department of secondary education/foundations of education, will offer a master of education degree track in education leadership for those interested in school principal positions.

SRU students shine at Rising Star Awards

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. �- Eight Slippery Rock University students have been named Rising Stars for 2009 and have had an actual star named for them. AVI Foodsystems Inc., the campus contact food vendor, purchased seven stars. The SRU Alumni Association purchased one.

Kappa Sigma, alumni, SRU faculty take on Steelers for charity

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University faculty and staff along with current and alumni members of Kappa Sigma fraternity will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at 8 p.m. May 6 in Morrow Field House. However, to make the competition a bit more fair, the game will be basketball - not football.

SRU launches need-based Rock Opportunity Scholarship

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University has established a Rock Opportunity Scholarship to provide need-based tuition assistance to in-state students facing financial hardship because of the current economy. The University and Slippery Rock University Foundation Inc. have committed $250,000 to the program and will provide $1,000 to $1,250 a year to more than 200 undergraduates.

SRU offers help to those receiving government contracts

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's Government Contracting Assistance Center will host a free Post-Award Contract Administration Seminar from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Regional Learning Alliance, Cranberry Township.�
