Good grades earn SRU cross country teams All-Academic honors
NEW ORLEANS - The Slippery Rock University men's and women's cross country teams have been named All-Academic squads by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The USTFCCCA released its 2009 team honorees last week. In order to be eligible for All-Academic team honors, a squad must post a collective GPA of at least 3.0.
Slippery Rock's women posted the third-highest GPA of all the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference schools at 3.57. West Chester (3.64) and Gannon (3.60) ranked first and second.
The Rock men posted a 3.05 collective GPA last fall.
The PSAC led all Division II conferences with 11 men's teams and 13 women's teams earning All-Academic honors.
