SUNDAY’S ‘PIANO
EXTRAVAGANZA’ TO FEATURE SRU STUDENTS
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
– Slippery Rock University music students taught by Dr.
Nanette Kaplan Solomon, professor of music, will present "Piano
Extravaganza," a recital of four- and eight-hand piano selections
at 8 p.m. Sunday [May 1] in Swope Recital Hall.
Admission for the
general public is $3; SRU students free.
The program
will include duets by Fanny Mendelssohn, Satie, Faure, Barber
and others as well as two-piano, eight-hand arrangements of Bach,
Sicilienne, a Joplin rag fantasy and the Waltz from Gounod's
Faust.
Students
participating are: Erica Arnold of Reinholds, Bonnie Buzzard
of Munhall, Erin Close of Ijamsville, Md., Kristianna Fry of Cabot,
Ellen Gross of Emmaus, Kelly Hiser of Butler, Maegan Hunt of Beaer
Falls, Markus Kaiser of Germany, Cassandra Rondinelli of West
Mifflin, Jennifer Szurek of Greensburg, Andrea Zahuranec of Polk,
and a guest appearance by Dr. Bradley Wilson, SRU professor of
philosophy.
