SRU faculty member, students take roles in regional organization
Susan Hadley, Slippery Rock University associate professor of music, has been elected student affairs adviser for the Mid-Atlantic Region Association for Music Therapy Students and two SRU students have been elected to the association's executive board.
Michelle Bonaventura, a music therapy senior from Pittsburgh, will serve as vice president, and Angela Junker, a junior music therapy major from Butler, was elected as a government relations representative.
In her new post, Hadley will also serve as a member of the association's executive board.
"SRU has a long history of work with the regional student organization, with the initial constitution and bylaws being written here decades ago under the leadership of retired SRU music therapy faculty member Dr. Sue Shuttleworth," said Hadley, who joined SRU music faculty in music therapy in 1997.
The association's mission is to advance public awareness of the benefits of music therapy, to increase access to quality music therapy services and to provide support to its members within the mid-Atlantic region.
