Campus Family Campaign continues, names second winner

As the Campus Family Campaign at Slippery Rock University continues to draw more participants, the campaign also has a second Giant Eagle Gift Certificate winner. John Chuhra, plumbing foreman in facilities and planning, won $20 in vouchers Friday. Gift certificates will be awarded every other Friday.

Tracy Allison, manager of the Annual Fund, said SRU faculty and staff have pledged $136,293 as of Oct. 23 - up from $131,308 since the beginning of the 2009-10 campaign.

She said 435 employees - 44 percent - have contributed. Sixty-three employees have increased their payroll deduction since last year's campaign, with a total of 378 employees making use of payroll deduction, she said.
All faculty and staff members who authorize a payroll deduction for a minimum of $25 by Friday or who increase their payroll deduction by $5 per pay, will be eligible for drawings for one of two 32-inch flat-screen televisions. The drawing will be Nov. 6.

The campaign is the University's primary fund-raising program targeting faculty and staff. Gifts support student scholarships, academic programs, academic department enhancements or any other area designated by the contributor.
Incentive funds will be offered to departments and offices that reach 100 percent participation. Last year, 11 departments and offices reached 100 percent participation in the campaign and were eligible for $1,376 each in incentive funds.
