Former Rock baseball star gets honors from high school alma mater
Former Slippery Rock University baseball standout Craig White will be inducted today into the Bethel Park High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
White was a first-team All-America shortstop for The Rock and helped lead the Green and White to its first-ever appearance in the Division II national championship event in 1989.
He later played several seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system and for the Boston Red Sox during the Major League Baseball strike in 1995.
White, a 1986 Bethel Park and a 1992 SRU sport management graduate, will be one seven individuals included in the 2009 BPH Hall of Fame class.
