SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Western Pennsylvania companies will have the opportunity to learn how to become qualified U.S. government supplier by attending a "Basics of Federal Government Contracting Seminar" May 27 in Mars, Pa.
The 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. seminar is at the Four Points by Sheraton Pittsburgh North.
SlipperyRock University's Government Contracting Assistance Center and California University of Pennsylvania's Government Agency Coordination Office are hosting the event.
"The federal government is ready to do business on a competitive basis with qualified companies that can supply needed products and services. To be successful, companies must understand how the government conducts business," said Renee Decker, government contract specialist at SRU.
The free seminar will provide a basic understanding of federal government contracting. Among the topics to be discussed are federal registrations and certifications, identifying procurement codes and understanding procurement types.
