FACULTY STAFF INVITED TO JOIN SRU ALUMNI
REUNION FESTIVITIES JUNE 17-18
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
– Faculty and staff across campus are invited to join more
than 100 Slippery Rock University alumni in the annual Alumni
Reunion Weekend festivities planned for June 17-18 by the
university’s Office of Alumni Relations and spotlighting the
class of 1955 celebrating its 50th reunion.
Also featured at
the two-day event will be the SRU Student Government Association,
residence life alumni, and cross country/track and field
alumni from 1958 through 1968.
June 17 opens
with a 1 to 4 p.m. walking tour of McConnell’s Mill, followed
by a 5 p.m. “Great Texas Barbeque” at the Alumni
Association Picnic Pavilion near Jack Critchfield Park. At 7 p.m.
the Musicians’ Concert Band, directed by Blasé
Scarnati, is planned to be followed with an after-concert reception
in the Russell Wright Alumni House.
June 18 opens with
a 6 a.m. sunrise walk followed at 7 a.m. with breakfast at the
University Club in North Hall and trolley tours of campus and the
newly renovated downtown. The noon reunion luncheon, the highlight
of the weekend, will be held at the University Club.
Afternoon
activities include fitness time at the Robert N. Aebersold Student
Recreation Center followed by a 6 p.m. dinner at the North County
Brewery followed by a microbrew and Pennsylvania wine tasting
class. A bonfire at the SRU Ski Lodge is planned for
10 p.m.
