NATIONAL COMPUTER SCIENCE HONORARY AT SLIPPERY
ROCK UNIVERSITY INDUCTS 17AS INTEREST IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
DEGREE EXPANDS
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Seventeen Slippery Rock
University students have been inducted intoUpsilon Pi
Epsilon, the national computer science honorary society. The honor
society salutes both student leadership and
scholarship.
Dr.
Deborah Whitfield, computer science professor and adviser to the
honorary, notes that the organization’s numbers are
increasing in large part due to the recent addition of an
information technology degree. Currently more than 300 SRU students
are majoring in the department.
