SRU DANCE
DEPARTMENT OFFERS CLASSES FOR CHILDREN
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock
University’s dance department will offer tap, creative,
hip-hop and jazz classes for children ages 3-12 Saturdays Sept.
3-Nov. 19 at the McKay Education Building Dance
Studio.
The classes, taught by an SRU
dance graduate Leigh Puntureri and current dance major Jessica
Krahe, are open to all children.
The focus is on teaching,
exploring and learning. Participation does not require parents to
purchase costumes. There will be informal studio showings at the
end of each 11-week session.
The schedule:

Creative dance for 3-4 year olds: 9:30-10 a.m.,
$50
•
Creative dance for 5-6 year olds: 10:15-11 a.m.,
$60
•
Tap and jazz for 7-12 year olds: 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.,
$70
•
Hip-hop, tap and jazz for 9-12 year olds: 12:30-1:30 p.m.,
$70

promotes spatial awareness, cooperation, self-expression and
