SRU freshman earns Furniture Galleries Carpet One Scholarship 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Eric D. Rensel, a freshman from Butler, has been awarded the Furniture Galleries Scholarship established by Alan and Patti Offstein, owners of Furniture Galleries Carpet One Floor & Home. The scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to Furniture Galleries Carpet One employees and their families pursuing an education at Slippery Rock University.  

           Recipients must demonstrate dedication and perseverance in their academic work.

           Rensel, a 2008 Butler Area Senior High School graduate, was a member of the varsity cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He lettered in all three.   

           "Patti and I are pleased to provide this scholarship to encourage the educational initiatives of our employees and their families," said Alan Offstein, a former chair of the Slippery Rock University Foundation Inc. board of directors. "Patti and I congratulate Eric on all of his accomplishments.  We wish Eric well on all of the opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead."
