The Homeland/Corporate Security and Leadership department supports student clubs and organizations related to both the security and leadership fields.

Security Studies Club

The Security Studies Club is a student led organization. This student organization focuses on homeland security, corporate security, and fraud aspects of the ever-growing complex threats facing the United States and private organizations, non-profits and non-governmental organizations. Security affects all majors, professions, and industries, so If you are interested in learning more about security, this is the organization you should join. Club activities include speakers on professional development and future career tracks, and field outings. The Security Studies Club also co-sponsors events with the Project to End Human Trafficking.

Project to End Human Trafficking

Human trafficking has been described as "modern day slavery", and the Project to End Human Trafficking seeks to promote awareness and support investigative efforts throughout the region. The Project to End Human Trafficking is a passionate organization of students dedicated to the eradication of modern-day slavery. Members partake in everything from education to advocacy work. If you are interested in learning more about the issues of human trafficking, then this is the organization you should join. Club activities include speakers on human trafficking, human trafficked victims, Red Sand Project, Poster Awareness activities, and co-sponsored events with the Security Studies Club.

Order of the Sword and Shield

The Order of the Sword and Shield is a National Honor Society for Protective Studies and recognizes students for outstanding academic and personal achievement, and dedication to the security field.  This includes academic achievement in the fields of homeland security, intelligence, emergency management, cyber and information security, and all protective studies.  The Order of the Sword and Shield was established in 2010.  A Slippery Rock University Chapter was created in October, 2018. Slippery Rock University first inducted students into the SRU Chapter on March 21, 2019.

The first event the Order of the Sword and Shield, Slippery Rock University Chapter, sponsored was Bradford Willke- Director Stakeholder Engagement- Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) who spoke on campus about the threats to cybersecurity and infrastructure in America.
