Health Care Administration & Management (HCAM)
Slippery Rock University has developed the HCAM program for students interested in pursuing an administration or management career in the health care industry. Graduates of HCAM are prepared to assume entry-level positions within a vast and dynamic healthcare Industry, such as: Insurance, Managed Care, Healthcare Technology, Hospitals, Medical Supply, Group Practices, Nursing Homes, Pharmaceutical, Government Agencies
“By the year 2014 health services employment is projected to increase dramatically with over 4,700,000 NEW HEALTH CARE JOBS. The increased demand for health care services, fed by the growing proportion of elderly in the population is expected to continue for a full 50 years! HCAM majors now have the ability to choose a specialty track that is aligned with their interests and acumen.

Students learn how to be future leaders in health care by learning a 360 degree perspective of the United States health care delivery & insurance systems, including: leadership, health care ethics, legal & regulatory environments, healthcare informatics & technology, economic principles behind policy, finance, organizational design, quality & process improvement, marketing & sales, international health care systems, and the foundations of health services research.
The HCAM program incorporates high impact practices such as collaboration with health care industry stakeholders for internships, course projects, service & experiential learning, and student research.
