Accounting Department Scholarship

Applicants must be Accounting majors who have completed a minimum of 64 credits, including   completion of Intermediate Accounting I. Applicant must be a full-time student and have a  3.0 cumulative  grade point average

Applicants must be Accounting majors who have a minimum QPA 2.50 and completed a  minimum of 64 credits including completion of Intermediate Accounting I

Applicants must be an Economics or Finance Major and have completed a minimum of 30 credits, be enrolled as a full-time student, have a minimum QPA of 2.5, and have a U.S. Citizenship

Abbass Alkhafaji Memorial Scholarship
for Excellence in Management 

Preference will be given to management students who have exemplified excellence and mastery in the major. In addition, business students who show an interest in global commerce and international studies will also be considered.  Applicants must be full-time students with at least 60 credits and a 3.0 cumulative grade point average

Applicants must be Marketing majors, enrolled as full-time students, and have completed  64 credit hour

Dr. James E. Winner, Jr. Family Scholarship

Applicants must have completed or be in the process of completing 50 credits at SRU. They  must be enrolled as a full-time student and have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and also,  demonstrate financial need. Priority will be given to permanent residents of Mercer County, PA and students pursuing a major in business administration

Kurt Heinz Scholarship

For students majoring in the School of Business. Preference will be given to students who are employed in work-study or part-time  employment by the university, or to students who show proof of outside employment

Manocha School of Business Scholarship

The Manocha School of Business Scholarship is established and endowed within the Slippery Rock University Foundation, Inc. by Dr. Dineshnandini Manocha.  The applicant must have an academic major within the School of Business and enrolled full-time.  They must have earned a minimum of 64 credits at SRU and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.  Financial need is also a requirement.  The award will be pursuant to the following order of preference:

  1. Female students from an Asian country with a major in the School of Business
  2. Students from other non-U.S. countries with a major within the School of Business
  3. All students with a declared major within the School of Business

Orvis receives President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
Bruce Orvis, associate professor in Slippery Rock University’s School of Business, was honored Saturday as the 2013-14 recipient of the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching as part of the University’s annual Academic Honors Convocation.

SRU Alpha Kappa Psi honorary earns ‘Chapter of Year’ award
The Slippery Rock University chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, Iota Upsilon, was named a “Chapter of the Year” award recipient for its accomplishments during the 2013-14 year.

Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed, professional business fraternity with more than 220 chapters on college campuses across the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom.
