
Douglas Strahler is a full-time temporary instructor in the Department of Communication at Slippery Rock University. He earned his B.S. in Communication: Emerging Technology and Multimedia degree from Slippery Rock University and his M.S. in New Media from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University. He is currently pursuing his Ed.D.
in Instructional Technology & Leadership from Duquesne University.
Doug teaches in the areas of technology and multimedia. As an alum of the department ('05), his academic and professional training are in the areas of graphic design, web design/development, web 2.0 technologies and social media.
During the 2010-2011 academic year, he co-authored a chapter with Dr. Thomas Flynn, entitled “Transparency, Misrepresentation, and Social Media.” Their chapter is to be published in a future edition of a Social Media book edited by Gary Gumbert and Susan Drucker. This book is currently in print.
Doug is also a member of the New York State Communication Association (NYSCA) and the Eastern Communication Association (ECA).
