
Dr. Barnett is Associate Professor of Communication at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He teaches communication law, communication projects, public speaking, broadcast announcing, and a variety of media production courses, including video production, editing for video, television field production, as well as television studio production. Barnett earned his Ph.D. in Communication from Bowling Green State University, his M.A. in Mass Media Communication from the University of Akron, and his B.A. in Telecommunication and Electronic Media from Ohio State University. Barnett has worked in the television and video industries and his research interests include hate speech, extremist groups, Internet studies, First Amendment law, and the rhetoric of music.
