The 2010 Beta Beta Biology Fall Picnic

After a succession of beautiful sunny days, the day selected (weeks in advance) for the Biology Department was anything but.  Despite an all day rain, nearly 100 students and biology faculty members met at the Ski Lodge for the annual Beta Beta Beta and Department of Biology Fall Picnic.  There was a great turnout of new freshman biology majors, upperclassmen and faculty!

Fortunately, the rain stopped a little before the picnic started at 5, just in time to grill the hot dogs and get in a couple of volleyball games.  There was more than enough pizza and bread sticks, hot dogs, cookies, drinks, and more for everyone.  A heavy downpour at 630 stopped the final volleyball match, and probably ended the picnic a little early,  but it was fun while it lasted!

The Annual Fall Biology Picnic

The Biology Picnic is a yearly event cosponsored by the Department and Tri-Beta.  It is a great opportunity for students and faculty to interact outside of class, and for the new freshman to meet upperclass students  and the faculty!

At this year's picnic, Dr. Sigmund introduced the faculty to the freshman and Tri-Beta President Lyndsey Peterson introduced the Tri-Beta officers.
