 Synthetic Organic Chemistry

Principle Investigator: Dr. John R. Seiders II

My research interests fall in the broad scope of synthetic organic chemistry with a focus on reaction design. Currently I am investigating the utility of single electron oxidation as a means of generating highly reactive benzylic electrophiles. The goal of this project is to develop a mild and efficient means for the formation of carbon - carbon bonds via a chemoselective oxidation.

More information will be available on this research in the future. Stop by my office (ATS 263) to discuss the possibility of becoming involved.
