Many of the Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences Department's faculty members participated in the 5K run/2K walk on September 22, 2012 to kick off the inaugural week festivities for the installation of SRU's new president, Dr. Cheryl Norton. In June 2010, several SRU Exercise Science faculty joined U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, M.D. on a community walk during the ACSM Inaugural Exercise is Medicine World Congress in Baltimore, Maryland.
