The Slippery Rock University undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program is officially recognized as having met the standards of quality of entry level Athletic Training education programs. CAATE is sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
The Athletic Training education program has a long history of accreditation becoming one of the first recognized programs in 1974.
In order for students to attain the BOC certification, an individual must complete an entry-level athletic training education program accredited by CAATE and pass the BOC certification exam.
