Robert A. Davis Award for
New Majors in Geography or Environmental Studies

The Robert A. Davis Geography and Environmental Studies Scholarship has been established at Slippery Rock University in the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment. The merit-based scholarship award is available annually to eligible second semester sophomores and juniors.

Amount of Davis Award: up to $2,000.00

Criteria:

Second semester sophomore or junior status at time of application.
Official full-time enrollment as a new major in Geography or Environmental Studies by the application deadline, and maintenance of enrollment in the program during the year of the award.
Minimum 3.0 QPA overall earned at Slippery Rock University.

Application Procedure:

Complete the application form.
Write a personal statement addressing: why you selected this major. Provide a description of an experience that either led you to initially choose your program or an experience that you had in class that solidified your program choice. Your personal statement should be well written and at a minimum 500 words in length.
Submit the personal statement and application form by March 26, 2013 to Cindy Schnur in 319 Advanced Technology and Science Hall.
