 Slippery Rock University English Team

  About the English Team

The purpose of the team is to promote riding skills through riding lessons and also to foster the growth of everyone as both an individual rider and as part of the team. The team feels that emphasis on communication between horse and rider is key to a successful experience. Members are focused on learning about horsemanship, sharing their love of riding, and having fun as a team.

The English team competes against Region 5/Zone 6 Colleges and Universities in Hunter/Jumper Classes. All skill levels, from advanced to complete beginner are welcome. As long as you are comfortable around horses, have a desire to work hard and be committed to the team all students are welcome to join.

Membership fees are $30 per semester, which is a separate expense from riding lessons and equipment. To be eligible for competition, members are required to take 6 riding lessons every semester. The cost per lesson is $35 for a one hour lesson.

The English Equestrian Team meets on Monday nights during the semester at 8:30 in classroom #102 at Storm Harbor Equestrian Center.

If you are interested in joining, please contact the English Team Captain Kate Campbell at Or call Storm Harbor Equestrian Center to set up a Tour.
