 About the Equestrian Team Coaches 



Amy Keefer currently coaches the Hunt Seat Intercollegiate Equestrian Teams for both Slippery Rock University and Clarion University.

Amy was nationally certified by the American Riding Instructors Association to teach Hunt Seat Equitation from Beginner basics to Advanced horsemanship.  She is an active member of the Western PA  Professional Horsemens' Association, serving on the board of directors in many capacities, and frequently assisting with the annual WPAPHA horse show.  Amy is also a recognized "r" USEF judge. Amy has an undergraduate degree fron SRU in sports management and a masters  degree from Duquesne.

Amy has been breaking young horses for various careers and training hunters and jumpers for 30+ years.  She and her husband Jim have owned and operated Thornwood Farm since 1981.

Tammy Braham currenlty coaches the Western Intercollegiate Team for both Slippery Rock University and Clarion University.

Tammy has been in the equine business for over 25 years and has had a long time training, breeding and showing business mainly dealing with Quarter Horses. She currenlty owns her own farm of Seven Oaks Quarter Horses in Grove City, PA, where she resides with her husband and two kids. Tammy holds many judging cards including NSBA, IBHA, ABRA, POA, and OH/PA-4-H. She has been a professional AQHA horseman for many years. Tammy has coached many riders to compete at the world and QH Congress level, helping them to earn many titles at the local and national level. Tammy has owned many AQHA top ten winners.
