The Graphic Design Track in the Communication Minor, designed specially for Art majors, provides a primarily skills-based course track to complement Art majors’ developing skills and knowledge, within their own academic domain, with specific design and production courses taught by the Communication Department. Additionally, requiring Art majors in the Graphic Design track of the Communication Minor to take both Communication Concepts (13-110) and Communication Law (13-410) will provide intellectual and theoretical enrichment. The primary emphasis on graphic design skills in the minor track, as well as the two theoretical courses, will therefore allow Art majors an opportunity to enhance their potential career choices in occupations where artistic and more technical, graphic design capabilities are valued.
