Sharon Massey received her BFA from Winthrop University in 1999, and her MFA in Metal Design from East Carolina University in 2006. In 2008, Sharon was one of twelve Americans whose work was chosen to tour 5 cities in Japan as part of the Japan Jewelry Design Association Biennale Exhibition. In 2009, Sharon received the Art Jewelry Forum Emerging Artist Award and she participated in Lucca Preziosa Young, an exhibition of eight jewelers under 35, which was exhibited in Lucca, Italy, and at the JOYA Festival of Contemporary Jewellery in Barcelona, Spain. Images of Sharon’s jewelry have been published in eight books, including 500 Necklaces, The Art of Enameling, and Art Jewelry Today 2nd and 3rd Editions. Sharon’s work is included in the collection of the Racine Art Museum in Racine, Wisconsin, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England. Sharon lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she maintains a dual studio practice making both one-of-a-kind art jewelry as well as a line of production jewelry.
