GOOD NEWS:

April 8, 2014: Associate Professor William Zeiger will present a storytelling, "Il Pentamorone," at the Lawrence County Historical Society in New Castle, 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, on the occasion of one of the Society's "Victorian Teas."

February 20, 2014: At SRU’s English Major for a Day event soon-to-be English Majors got to sit in on English classes, talk with current students and faculty, “guest edit” for SLAB and attend a Bailey Vox reading.

April 10, 2013: SRU English Alum, Ashley Ranck, who is pursuing her Master's Degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Florida Atlantic University, recently had an article published in Bluestockings Magazine.

March 29, 2013: Professors Nancy Barta-Smith and Danette DiMarco served as editors and contributing authors to a new book on storytelling, “Inhabited by Stories: Critical Essays on Tales Retold.” Click here to read more.

March 10, 2013: Senior English major, Carly Kaczmarowski, has been accepted to the M.F.A. Screenwriting program at the University of Las Vegas. She also receieved a full graduate assistantship. Congrats, Carly!

March 8, 2013: Professor Mark O'Connor, Slippery Rock University professor of English, has written a historical essay about the Polish Hill neighborhood in Pittsburgh that was published by The Massachusetts Review. Click here to read more.

April 19, 2012: SRU English alum, Nita Shippy, who is purusing her Master's Degree in English Literature at West Virgina University, was awarded "The Rebecca Mason Perry Award for Outstanding First-Year Graduate Students." Congrats, Nita!
