Carly Kaczmarowski
, Creative Writing Major, Film & Media Studies Minor


Carly Kaczmarowski, a Senior Creative Writing major, talks about her choice to leave Wisconsin to come to Slippery Rock University. Carly also talks about how classes in her major helped to develop her creative thinking skills and prepared her to apply to graduate programs in screen writing. Carly has been involved in SLAB, Marching Band, Rock Writing, and many other organizations which have also helped her develop her writing and creative skills. Carly has been accepted to a screen writing program in Las Vegas and will also be doing an internship in South Africa creating a documentary on an exotic animal.

Alyssa Mandalas, Secondary Education, English Major

Alyssa Mandalas, a senior Secondary Education - English major, talks about being inspired by her professors to love literature and therefore change her major from elementary education to secondary education. She also speaks about how she was able to travel and see first hand where some of the literature she loved to study comes from with the English department. Alyssa believes that SRU has fully prepared her to enter the field of education and cannot wait to be in her own classroom.
