The purpose of the David D. Dixon Scholarship is to provide scholarship assistance to a Slippery Rock University undergraduate student in history who has demonstrated a passion for his or her studies in history.

The scholarship amount will be $1,000.00 and will be applied to the recipient's next academic semester.

The student must be enrolled in SRU's BA program in history and must be at least a junior.  Preference will be given to a student who has contributed to programs at the Old Stone House.

Students should submit an essay of 500 words or less explaining how their love of history contributed to their decision to pursue their education in the B.A. history program. Please contact the History Department for the application deadline.

The David D. Dixon Scholarship recipient will be announced at the annual Phi Alpha Theta (the honorary society for history students) banquet each spring.
