Music degree programs at SRU are designed to appeal to the interests and career goals of contemporary students. All programs are in accordance with the specifications of and have received accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). The music faculty is comprised of the finest performing artists and master teachers in the area. Many factors, including a low student-to-faculty ratio, modern technologies, numerous ensemble opportunities, and beautiful facilities for study and practice, blend to create a challenging and rewarding learning environment.

Bachelor of Music in Music Education
Prepares excellent musicians who are capable of teaching instrumental, vocal, and general music (K-12) in public or private schools.

Prepares students to work as healthcare professionals in a variety of settings including working with clients in special education, nursing homes, behavioral health centers, correctional facilities, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, women's shelters, and for work as a music therapist in private practice.

Provides an excellent background for students wishing to pursue graduate studies in music and performance.
Prepares students for careers in music merchandising, church music, private teaching, and the television/radio industry.

The music minor program requires completion of 25 credits and is open to all undergraduate degree-seeking students at SRU.
