The mission of this major is to prepare teacher candidates, who are passionate about health and physical education, promote lifelong physical activity, cognitive function, and overall academic achievement through a standards-based curriculum.
The Health and Physical Education program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education in Physical Education with criteria defined by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education. The primary goal of the program is to prepare effective educators to work in k-12 school settings
Graduates of the Teacher Education Track are prepared to work in school settings delivery health and physical education to school aged youth.
