Kelly has worked as a part-time faculty at Slippery Rock University since fall 2012, but has worked as an equine assisted activities instructor at Storm Harbor Equestrian Center on the SRU campus since 2010. Kelly holds a Masters of Education from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She has been certified as a PATH International Registered-Level Instructor since 2006. She is a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-educational service fraternity, and the largest collegiate fraternity in the United States.
Kelly has ridden horses since she was 4 years old, and competed nationally since she was 6 years old- earning a national high point title through the American Quarter Horse Association in 1998. Kelly competed on Vanderbilt University's Intercollegiate Hunt Seat Equestrian Team as an undergraduate student, and rode with SRU's Intercollegiate Western Equestrian Team as an Alumni rider in 2012- placing 6th at IHSA Nationals in both Alumni Western Horsemanship and Alumni Reining. Currently, Kelly enjoys competing at American Quarter Horse Association-approved competitions with her horse, Only In Dreams ("Floyd").
