The Adapted Physical Activity program is dedicated to serving the Slippery Rock community. Our faculty, staff, and student participate, organize, or sponsor the following programs and/or events:

Allegheny Valley School -

Center on Disability & Health - The Center on Disability and Health exists to provide information about local programs designed to improve the health, fitness, or wellness of people with disabilities.

I Can Do It, You Can Do It

Kids in Action -

Kids in Action is an after-school program that specializes in youths with autism ages 5-12 and their siblings.

Special Olympics - Slippery Rock has teamed up with the local Special Olympics program in Butler, and students assist in coaching the athletes in various fall, winter/spring, and year-round sports.

Teen Recreation

Veterans with Disabilities - The Veterans with Disabilities Program is held on Fridays in the ARC. University students in the program design class organize activities such as baseball, frisbee, golf, tennis, and football.

VIP Camp - VIP Sports Camp provides sports and recreation opportunities for children and teenagers who are visually impaired or blind. Day clinics and a four day long summer camp are available for youth ages 5-18.
