 Kids in Action

SPOTLIGHT

Kids in Action is an after-school program that specializes in youths with autism ages 5-12 and their siblings. Through this program, the clients are also assigned a mentor. Mentors are college students who work with the participants one-on-one and provide the appropriate amount of guidance during each lesson. Kids In Action is held in West Gym, East Gym, the Sensory Center at the Special Education Annex, and the Storm Harbor Equestrian Center on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 pm during the semester.

Through the Kids in Action program, the clients may demonstrate improvements in:

  • Fitness level
  • Social skills
  • Confidence
  • Self-esteem
