This guide was designed to provide students with our recommendations and links to additional information regarding employment or continuing education. The following tasks are broken down according to educational level.

Researching Companies 

  • Business Source Premier
    • An online journal database that allows students to review the company profiles of thousand's of US businesses. This information can be very helpful when applying for a job, writing resume and cover letter, and preparing for the interview.
  • Mergent Online
    • Contains invaluable information for over 15,000 major public and private companies worldwide

Resume/Cover Letter/Interviewing Guides 

  • Resume Guides are available in print of the second floor of the Bailey Library. To find these guides visit the second floor of the Bailey Library. Many resume/cover letter/ and interviewing guides are found in the following section:
    • HE 5383
  • The most up to date resources for this topic are located in the Electronic Books, which can be accessed by any SRU student.

Online, Full-Text Libraries 

  • Bailey Library offers many career resources in all topic areas. Although the library offers many guides and resources in print, the most updated resources are available though Online, Full-Text Libraries.
    • NetLibrary.com
      • Users must first register on any campus computer. This will enable accessibility on, and off campus On the first page of the web site click on "create an account" located on the right-hand side of the screen and follow the directions. Net Library contains thousands of reference, scholarly, and professional e books.
    • Ebrary
      • A collection of over 10,000 full text books covering academic topics. Users must first download the Ebrary reader to view the books.

Exploring Majors/Careers 

  • Many guides are available to explore different career fields and majors. Typically these are stored on the second floor of Bailey Library. To find these resources try searching in the following sections:

  • Guides on specific disciplines are located in discipline-specific library sections, see your librarian for help.
