This listing of external scholarships is made available as a service to our students and includes scholarship information that has been sent to the Financial Aid Office from outside organizations and agencies. AES Engineer's Scholarship

Criteria:

Scholarships are determined based on GPA and character of applicant as demonstrated in a required essay. The award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You don’t have to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to the following question: Reflecting on your personal experiences and/or circumstances, tell us something about yourself that distinguishes you as a potential scholarship candidate

Chancellor Emeritus John C. Cavanaugh International Education Award

Criteria:

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student at a PASSHE university, a resident of PA, a Pell Grant or PHEAA grant recipient, participating in an institutionally approved overseas program and in good academic and judicial standing.  Preference will be given to students who have no overseas experience.

Desk and Derrick Educational Trust

Criteria:

This scholarship is for applicants who are currently pursuing a degree in geology, chemical engineering and petroleum engineering and plan a career in the petroleum, energy or allied industry. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have completed two years of undergraduate studies with a minimum GPA of 3.2 and enrolled in a full-time program.

Fitz Dixon Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student at a PASSHE university pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree.  Undergraduate applicants must have completed 45 credits with a 3.0 GPA, and graduate applicants must have completed 9 credits with a 3.5 GPA.  Applicant must show financial need based on the FAFSA.

Martha M. Dohner Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be a female permanent resident of Dauphin or Cumberland County and attend an accredited college or university in Pennsylvania.  Applicant must also complete at least 15 credits toward a Bachelor’s Degree by the end of spring term 2014 with a GPA of at least 3.25, and also demonstrate financial need.

William D. Greenlee Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student at a PASSHE university majoring in political science, journalism or communications.  Undergraduate applicants must have completed 60 credits with a 3.0 GPA.  Applicants with demonstrated financial need based on the FAFSA may be given preference.

Criteria: Applicant must be a single mother with at least one dependent child living in her care, be enrolled as a sophomore pursuing a 4-year degree, a resident of PA who demonstrates financial need.

Criteria:

Applicant must be under 25 years of age and be admitted to an undergraduate bachelor degree progrm.  Applicant must have one parent or step-parent who has been seriously injured or killed in a work-related incident that has been documented by the parent's employer.

Latino College Dollars

Criteria:

The Latino College Dollars is a free online scholarship guide for Latino students featuring information on over 300 scholarships and fully customized searches online. Every scholarship has varying requirements, including its own application. Almost all scholarships will ask for some combination of the following things: one or two essays; letters of reference; writing sample; resume; transcripts; copy of student aid report; parent and student tax returns and W-2 forms; GPA certification form; enrollment verification form; and/or copy of financial aid award letter.

Momentum, Inc. Healthcare Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be a full-time junior or senior at a PASSHE university, and reside in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry or York counties. Applicant must be majoring in a healthcare-related field including biology and healthcare informatics. Applicant must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Criteria:

This scholarship is for applicants who are currently enrolled in an engineering, construction, or architecture related field and who are pursuing further education in these respectable areas. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 based on the past year's performance. Applicant must be at least 17 years of age or older and be accepted to or attending a full-time engineering, construction, or architecture program at an accredited institution of learning. Applicant must be either a citizen of the United States or a foreign student with a valid United States Student Visa

EASFAA Multicultural Diversity Committee Database

Criteria:

The EASFAA Multicultural Diversity Committee (MDC) has created a database of scholarship opportunities for students from various ethnic and identity groups: African Americans; Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders; Students with disabilities; Latinos/Latinas & Hispanics; LGBTQ; Native Americans & Alaska Natives; Women. Nursing Education Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age and is currently accepted to a medicine related program but not yet started, or any current undergraduate or graduate student who is currently enrolled in and attending a medicine related program at an accredited institution of learning. Applicant must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

PASSHE Board of Governors Chair, Guido M. Pichini, Endowed Scholarship Fund

Criteria:

The Quido and Anna Pichini Merit Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be a full-time student at a PASSHE university or an incoming freshman enrolled as a full-time student with a GPA of 3.5 or better.  Applicant must participate in voluntary service at his/her university, high school or community.  First preference given to a Berks County resident who is also of either Italian or Polish descent, otherwise a PA resident who meets the other requirements.

Postsecondary Educational Gratuity Program

Criteria:

This program honors individuals who lost their lives protecting the citizens of Pennsylvania by helping their children fund their education.

To be considered, you must:

  • Be a resident of Pennsylvania
  • Be a child by birth or adoption of a police officer, firefighter, rescue or ambulance squad member, corrections facility employee, or active National Guard member who died after January 1, 1976, as a direct result of performing his or her official duties
  • Be a child by birth or adoption of a sheriff, deputy sheriff, National Guard member, or other individual who was on federal or state active military duty who died after September 11, 2001, as a direct result of performing his or her official duties
  • Be 25 years of age or younger when you apply for the program
  • Have already applied for available scholarships, as well as state and federal grants
  • Be enrolled at a Pennsylvania community college, state-owned institution, or state-related institution as a full-time undergraduate student pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree

Criteria:

Applicant must be a full-time undsergraduate student at a PASSHE university, a Pell Grant or PHEAA Grant recipient, a resident of PA participating in an institutionally approved overseas program and be in good academic and judicial standing.  Preference will be given to students who have no overseas experience.

The Scholarship for Christian Vocations for Western PA United Methodist Women

Criteria:

Any United Methodist student of the western PA Conference who plans to enter a full-time, church-related vocation and who is in need of financial assistance to further her or his education may apply. The student may apply for her or his junior or senior year of college, graduate school years. Financial assistance shall be given only to United Methodist students of the Western Pennsylvania Conference who: 1. Are fully dedicated to service in the United Methodist Church in a full-time, church-related vocation. 2. Need financial assistance. 3. Have satisfactory academic grades. 4. Active in their local church and community.

Criteria:

Applicant must be a female permanent resident of Dauphin, Cumberland or Perry County and attend an accredited college or university in Pennsylvania.  Applicant must also complete at least 60 credits toward a Bachelor’s Degree by the end of Spring term 2014 with a GPA of at least 3.4, and also demonstrate financial need.

Criteria:

Streamline Refinance is pleased to offer scholarships for students who are currently enrolled in finance, economics, or investment related fields and who are pursuing advanced education in these particular areas. Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age or older and be accepted to or attending a full-time finance, economics, or investment program at an accredited institution of learning. Applicant must be either a citizen of the United States or a foreign student with a valid United States Visa. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 based on the previous year's academic performance

United States Military V.A. Loan Disability  Awareness Scholarship

Criteria:

Military V.A. Loan is pleased to offer a scholarship in support of disability awareness. Anyone can apply for this scholarship as long as they are at least 17 years of age and be accepted to and/or attending a full-time higher education program at an accredited institution of learning; they must also have a minimum of 3.0 GPA based on the previous year's academic performance.

Walmart Foundation Scholarship Programs

Criteria:

Several scholarship programs available, including: The Walmart Associate Scholarship available to Walmart and Sam’s Club associates; The Sam Walton Community Scholarship available to graduating seniors with at least a 2.5 GPA and a demonstrated financial need; The Walmart Dependent Scholarship available to Walmart and Sam’s Club dependents of associates who are graduating seniors with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and a demonstrated financial need; and Walton Family Foundation Scholarship available to dependents of Walmart and Sam’s Club associates who have at least a 22 ACT or 1030 SAT score and prove financial need.

Wells Fargo Endowed Scholarship for Academic Excellence

Criteria:

Applicant must be resident of one of the following PA counties: Allegheny, Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, Pike and York.  Applicant must be an incoming freshman and full-time student at a PASSHE university. Applicant must demonstrate financial need based on the FAFSA.  Applicant must have demonstrated academic excellence in high school – top 25% of graduating class and a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
