Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Criteria:

Must be a high school junior, senior, or a student registered at an accredited institution. Applicants must submit a 500-1000 word essay on the following: “What have you done outside the classroom that demonstrates qualities sought after by the post secondary institution that you are hoping to attend? Also, which of these qualities means the most to you?”.  All applicants should include their full name and mailing address with their submissions.

Addison Gibson foundation Low-Interest education Loans

Criteria:

Family home must be located in western PA(long term). Must be full-time student. One or more year(s) completed in current degree program/university. Cumulative and current GPA has to be 2.8 or better. Students' existing debt must fall within the Foundation's established parameters.

Amount: Up to $12,000 throughout your entire college career if you are an undergraduate; Graduate students can recieve up to $18,000. Interest rates on Gibson Loans are 2% per year until one year after graduation, and 5% from then on. Principal payments also become due one year after graduation.

AES Engineer's Scholarship

Criteria:

Scholarships are determined based on GPA and character of applicant as demonstrated in a required essay. The award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You don’t have to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to the following question: Reflecting on your personal experiences and/or circumstances, tell us something about yourself that distinguishes you as a potential scholarship candidate

American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania

Criteria:

In order to qualify for this scholarship one must be a U.S. Citizen, PA Resident, a full-time sophomore or junior student pursuing a Bachelor degree in engineering or environmental sciences. Applicants must must also meet at least one of these criteria: Attend college in PA or serve or have served as an intern with a PA office of an ACEC/PA member firm.

ASCO Numatics Industrial Automation 2013 Engineering College Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation discipline at an accredited U.S. educational institution. Applicants must be entering their junior or senior year in a four-year undergraduate degree program or enrolled in a graduate program. They must also have at least a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be a U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident.

B. Davis Scholarship

Criteria:

This scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution. There is no age restriction. Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year or next. This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on this topic: Discuss, in less than 1,000 words, what you would consider to be the most important issue that society has to deal with in the next 10 or 20 years? Why do you thinkthis issue is so important?

Bounce Energy BE MORE Scholarship

Criteria:

This scholarship is for current high school or college students under the age of 24 years who is a resident in Pennsylvania. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must fill out an application located on tehir website as well as submitting a 500 word essay.

The BigSun Scholarship

Criteria:

All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute.  Must send a short essay answering the following questions: What are your most important extracurricular or community activities? What made you join these activities? What made you continue to contribute to them?

CEO of Tomorrow Scholarship

Criteria:

CEO.com is awarding this scholarship to students interested in business leadership and/or entrepreneurship. Criteria:

The Future Business Leader Scholarship is designed to help college students interested in pursuing a career in business (in any capacity) connect with one of the core tenants of business success that Discount Office Items prides itself on and has stood the test of time; customer service. Applicant must write a 300-500 word essay stating a time that you provided excellent customer service and the benefit provided to the business, or, a time in which you received excellent customer service and how that affected your view of the business. The Hayes Barnard Paramount Equity Young Entrepreneur Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of submission and who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university or who will be enrolled by October 1, 2013. Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The Hayes Barnard Paramount Equity Young Entrepreneur Scholarship gives future entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop their ideas through higher education and help make a difference in the world.

Latino College Dollars

Criteria:

The Latino College Dollars is a free online scholarship guide for Latino students featuring information on over 300 scholarships and fully customized searches online. Every scholarship has varying requirements, including its own application. Almost all scholarships will ask for some combination of the following things: one or two essays; letters of reference; writing sample; resume; transcripts; copy of student aid report; parent and student tax returns and W-2 forms; GPA certification form; enrollment verification form; and/or copy of financial aid award letter.

Medicare Supplemental Insurance Therapy Professionals Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicants must be any person 17 years of age or older who demonstrates interest in physical, massage, recreational, or occupational therapy or psychology professions and is interested in attending a related program, undergraduate, graduate, or accredited training program at an accredited institution of learning within the United States. Applicant must use scholarship award for related program as outlined above within an accredited institution within the United States. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, based on previous year's academic performance. Students enrolled in any mental health therapy (psychology, psychiatry, etc) or chiropractic program are eligible to apply.

EASFAA Multicultural Diversity Committee Database

Criteria:

The EASFAA Multicultural Diversity Committee (MDC) has created a database of scholarship opportunities for students from various ethnic and identity groups: African Americans; Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders; Students with disabilities; Latinos/Latinas & Hispanics; LGBTQ; Native Americans & Alaska Natives; Women. Nursing Education Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age and is currently accepted to a medicine related program but not yet started, or any current undergraduate or graduate student who is currently enrolled in and attending a medicine related program at an accredited institution of learning. Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation Scholarship Program

Criteria:

Be a resident of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Westmoreland or Washington County. Demonstrate unmet financial need of at least $1,000 after the financial award package has been determined. Have at least one parent of Hispanic ancestry (at least one of applicant's grandparents must be Hispanic). Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Enroll as a full-time student

Postsecondary Educational Gratuity Program

Criteria:

This program honors individuals who lost their lives protecting the citizens of Pennsylvania by helping their children fund their education.

To be considered, you must:

  • Be a resident of Pennsylvania
  • Be a child by birth or adoption of a police officer, firefighter, rescue or ambulance squad member, corrections facility employee, or active National Guard member who died after January 1, 1976, as a direct result of performing his or her official duties
  • Be a child by birth or adoption of a sheriff, deputy sheriff, National Guard member, or other individual who was on federal or state active military duty who died after September 11, 2001, as a direct result of performing his or her official duties
  • Be 25 years of age or younger when you apply for the program
  • Have already applied for available scholarships, as well as state and federal grants
  • Be enrolled at a Pennsylvania community college, state-owned institution, or state-related institution as a full-time undergraduate student pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree

The Scholarship for Christian Vocations for Western PA United Methodist Women

Criteria:

Any United Methodist student of the western PA Conference who plans to enter a full-time, church-related vocation and who is in need of financial assistance to further her or his education may apply. The student may apply for her or his junior or senior year of college, graduate school years. Financial assistance shall be given only to United Methodist students of the Western Pennsylvania Conference who: 1. Are fully dedicated to service in the United Methodist Church in a full-time, church-related vocation. 2. Need financial assistance. 3. Have satisfactory academic grades. 4. Active in their local church and community.

Sustainable Lawn Care Leaders Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university, supply an up-to-date copy of your resume so the scholarship committee can see the experience you have in your field of study and evidence of sustainability advocacy. Criteria:

Military V.A. Loan is pleased to offer a scholarship in support of disability awareness. Walmart Foundation Scholarship Programs

Criteria:

Several scholarship programs available, including: The Walmart Associate Scholarship available to Walmart and Sam’s Club associates; The Sam Walton Community Scholarship available to graduating seniors with at least a 2.5 GPA and a demonstrated financial need; The Walmart Dependent Scholarship available to Walmart and Sam’s Club dependents of associates who are graduating seniors with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and a demonstrated financial need; and Walton Family Foundation Scholarship available to dependents of Walmart and Sam’s Club associates who have at least a 22 ACT or 1030 SAT score and prove financial need.

 Writers of the Future Scholarship Contest
Criteria:

Applicants must not have published a novel or manuscript previously. Submit a typed 17,000 word original prose written in English. All works submitted remain the sole property of the individual submitting. One entry may be submitted per quarter.

"Wrought Iron Art" Scholarship

Criteria:

Eligibility is for any student currently enrolled for the 2013/14 school year at any college or university within the United States or Canada. Students must be 16 years or older at time of enrollment. Part of the application process requires individuals to submit a 500-3,000 word essay.
