Dean’s Diversity Scholarship, College of Education

Criteria: Preference to minority applicants.  This scholarship is renewable if minimum criteria for admission to teacher candidacy are met and all requirements for successful completion of the program are maintained.   
Amount:

up to $1000

College of Education Freshman Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be an incoming freshman. Have a minimum score of 1100 on the SAT. Applicant must have a minimum 3.3 high school GPA.

Amount:

Renewable as long as the student remains an education major. $500

The Dickert-Russell Family Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be a Venango County resident, with preference given to a graduate of Franklin High School. This scholarship is non-renewable. Applicant must be pursuing a major in education or communication. Applicant must also exhibit financial need. 

Amount:

Madelin Booth Clements Elementary Education Scholarship

Criteria:

Must be a full-time student who is an elementary education major. 

Amount:

Varies; Non-renewable

Helen Brua Gettig Memorial

Criteria:

Graduate of Riverside or Lincoln High School of the Ellwood City School District or any high school in Lawrence County, PA or Beaver County, PA.  Preference given to student applicants with at least a 3.5 QPA.  This scholarship is non renewable.

up to $2500

Dr. Edwin and Agnes Hasson Memorial

Criteria:

Graduate of Butler High School who participated in Marching Band.  This scholarship is non renewable.

up to $250

Russell and Alma Hemphill Memorial

Criteria: Student needs to demonstrate financial need and good academic standing.  Scholarship is renewable.

up to $200

Susan Morimando Scholarship

Criteria:

Freshman elementary education major from Moniteau, Slippery Rock, or Mercer school district who has a commitment to community service and leadership, has earned a QPA of 3.0, and demonstrates financial need.

Gwen 68' and Ray Phillips Annual Scholarship

Criteria: Must be an elementary education major.
Amount:

Renewable; up to $1250

Deadline:

February 28

Helen Ruth Snyder Scholarship

Criteria: Applicant must be an elementary education major. This student must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Student must also show financial need.
Amount:

Renewable for up to 4 years until completed bachelors degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA; up to $800

Don and Terry Phillips

Criteria: First preference to an education major from Baldwin or Bethel Park High School who has demonstrated teaching ability and financial need.  This scholarship is renewable.
Amount:

up to $1000

Martin and Helen K. Thompson

Criteria:

Butler County Resident.  Student must demonstrate financial need,  and scholarship is renewable.

Richard Tillack Memorial

Criteria: Graduate of North Allegheny High School, PA.  Financial need is required and the scholarship is non renewable.

Watson Family Scholarship for a graduate from a high school in Butler, Lawrence or Allegheny County

Criteria:

Ranked in top quarter of high school class.  Must demonstrate leadership potential as demonstrated by activities and community service.  This scholarship is non renewable.

Watson Family Scholarship for Slippery Rock Area High School Graduate

Criteria:

Ranked in top quarter of high school class.  Must demonstrate leadership potential as demonstrated by activities and community service.  This scholarship is non renewable.

John and Helen Williams Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:

Graduate of Conneaut Valley High School, PA.  Minimum high school QPA of 3.0.  Student should demonstrate financial need and this scholarship is renewable.  First preference to students majoring in education.
