Criteria:

Applicant must be a Butler County resident, full-time student. The selection committee prefers a student who is employed part-time in tourism or hospitality field. One recipient will be selected by the Parks & Rec Department and another will be selected by the Communications Department.

1)Current Communication major (first preference to an intercultural student).
2) Renewable with a minimum 3.0 GPA and/or participation in department related extracurricular activities (The Rocket, radio or television stations, department honoraries).  
3) 3 letters of support. 2 of which need to be from SRU department of Communication faculty.
4) Requires a letter of interest from applicant (in which he/she indicates why he/she should receive the scholarship).
5) Requires a Scholarship Application form from applicant.

2) Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.25 GPA in major.

Students that have successfully completed at least 60 credits of academic work at the University by the end of the spring semester in which they are applying for. Must have a 3.0 minimum GPA during their collegiate academic careeer. First preference will be given to students that have participated in one of the following groups/clubs: Rock Productions/PRSSA, WSRU TV, WSRU Radio, The Rocket (Student newspaper) and/or Lambda Pi Eta (Communications Honors Society.) Second preference will be given to students with a declared major in communications
