Claudia Balach Scholarship

Criteria:

Must be a student in the College of Education. Applicant must be a Junior. Must be a participant in a Professional Development School. Documentation will need to be provided to validate the criteria including a statement of participation in Professional Development School and a signature from the supervisor. Preference to a minority student or first generation student.

Madeline Booth Clements Scholarship
 

Criteria:

Must be a full-time student majoring in Elementary education.  One scholarship award per year and it is non-renewable.

Allie Heid Brandt Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:

First preference to female junior or senior education major with a 3.0 QPA who has demonstrated teaching potential and financial need. Northern Allegheny County resident and females preferred, but others will be considered.

Criteria:

Must be a full-time, upperclass education major. This award is based on academic achievement and talent.

Sadie Lindey Carey Scholarship

Criteria:

Students must be pursuing a degree in teacher education, have a minimum status of a second semester sophomore at the time of application, a minimum of 3.00 cumulative QPA.  Must demonstrate financial need.

Criteria:

Awarded to a Sophomore, Junior or Senior education major.  Renewable at the discretion of the College.

Class of '43 Scholarship

Criteria:

Education major who has completed 75 credits with a 3.0 QPA.  Must demonstrate financial need.

Criteria:

Education major, must have completed 45 credit hours and have exhibited significant service and/or contribution to SRU and/or surrounding communities. Undergraduate applicants must have at least a 3.0 QPA and Graduate applicants must have at least a 3.5 QPA.

The Class of 1962 Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be in the College of Education. They must have a minimum 3.0 QPA during college career. Must have completed a minimum of 30 credits by end of spring semester in which they are applying.

Margaret Minor-Stone Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicants must be enrolled in the College of Education and have financial need. Preference will be given to a student who has worked to contribute to their educational costs. Applicants must have graduated from a high school in Lawrence, Mercer or Butler County.

Catherine Morsink Scholarship

Criteria:

Full-time students in the College of Education seeking certification to teach K-12. At least 3.25 QPA, with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in the teaching profession as evidenced by strong volunteer or practicum experiences and has financial need. Preference will be given to students with interest or experience in multiple cultures, exceptionalities, or non-traditional students.

Criteria:

Criteria:

Criteria: This scholarship is offered to junior and senior elementary education majors demonstrating a grade-point average of at least 3.25.

Joseph Paul Spataro Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:

Junior Education major who is a varsity athlete

Madeline Farnen Stoops Scholarship for Sophmore and Junior Education Majors

Criteria: Applicant shall have earned a 3.5 QPA during their academic career at SRU. Students shall be considered to have exceptional promise as future educators, as demonstrated in the classroom, in field experience, or by participation in special projects. Special consideration shall be given to residents of Butler County, Pennsylvania and to applicants from the state of Delaware. Student must have demonstrated involvement in community service and/or university activities. Applicant will need two letters of recommendation- at least one from a SRU employee, a completed application form, a one-page typed statement- with a minimum of 100 words- from the applicant describing his/her character, personal interests and future plans must be included. Statement must include scholarship's name.

The Strickland Autism Champion Award and Scholarship 

Criteria:

Applicant must be an education major. Must have extensive experience working with people on the Autism Spectrum. Must have a minimum QPA of 3.0. Applicant must also be a current freshman, sophomore or junior.

Anna Brua Williams Scholarship for Women Elementary Education Majors

Criteria: Applicant must be a junior or first semester senior status by the conclusion of the fall  semester. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States. Student must have a minimum of 60 credit hours. Dr. Ronald J. and Patricia J. Williams Wasilak Education Scholarship

Criteria: Candidate must be an education major with a minimum GPA of 2.8 and at least 48 credit hours completed at SRU. First preference will go to students from Allegheny Valley School District’s Springdale Jr. Sr. High School in Cheswick, PA Bethlehem Center High School in Fredericktown, PA or Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School in Cranberry Twp, PA (in that order of preference). If first preference is not met, the award shall be given to students graduating from a high school in either Allegheny or Washington County, PA and majoring in Health and Physical Education Teaching or Education with a focus in History.
