Robert A. Davis Scholarship

Criteria:

Full-time enrollment in the department of Geography, Geology and the Environment, with a minimum 3.0 GPA earned at SRU. Must be second semester sophomore or junior at time of application. Application process requires a 400-600 word essay.

Amount:

up to $1700

Lynne Ernes Women in Science Scholarship

Criteria:

Current undergraduate student majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, or Physics student.  Preference will be given to female applicants.  Minimum 3.25 GPA.

Amount:

up to $1000

Geology Alumni Scholarship

Criteria:

Must be a current Geology major with overall 3.0 GPA, 3.25 QPA in major. Applicant must be a full-time student. Minimum of either geology credits taken at SRU; involvement, service and participation in department/professional activities.   

Amount:

up to $1400 ($700/semester)

Leadership in Science

Criteria:

Students with sophomore or junor standing pursuing a degree in mathematics, biology, chemisty, and physics, geography and the environment, or psychology. TBA

Paul F. Rizza Scholarship

Criteria:

Full-time enrollment in the department of Geography, Geology and the Environment Studies with a minimum of nine credits in the major and an overall 3.0 GPA at SRU.  Application process requires a 400-600 word essay.

Michael A Starker Award for Environmental Studies 

Criteria:

Second semester sophomore or junior status at time of application.
Official full-time enrollment in Environmental Studies by the application deadline, and maintenance of enrollment in the program during the year of the award.
Minimum 3.0 GPA overall earned at Slippery Rock University.

Amount:

up to $1000

Gene and Joanne Wilhelm Scholarship

Criteria:

Must be a student in the Geography, Geology and the Environment Department. Applicant must be a full-time student. Student must show financial need. Student has to have completed 24 credits at SRU. First preference to a student who has demonstrated international experience (i.e. a student from another country attending SRU or a student who has completed an academic study abroad program). 

Amount:

Minimum $500 - Renewable with 3.0 GPA

Flash Yarger Scholarship 

Criteria:

Second semester freshman or sophomore, undergraduate with minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application. Must be a full-time student. First preference to students majoring in Geology, then to others majoring in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or Geography. Preference to Pennsylvania residents. Students can apply in spring of freshman year. Must be committed to excellence and academic success.  

Amount:

up to $900 - Renewable with 3.0 GPA
