David Czapor Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:

Junior or senior enrolled in the Elementary School Mathematics Minor or the Middle School Mathematics Minor who has at least a 3.0 GPA.  Applicants should have completed Math 210, Math 310, and one other mathematics course required for the minor.  

A one page letter of application should include a discussion of your interest in mathematics and career goals.  Include the names and addresses of two mathematics references.

up to $250

Leadership in Science

Criteria:

Students with sophomore or junor standing pursuing a degree in mathematics, biology, chemisty, and physics, geography and the environment, or psychology. TBA

Janice Sharek Hogue Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:

Junior or senior mathematics major with at least a 3.3 GPA.  Student must be committed to excellence in teaching and must demonstrate financial need. First preference to students who matriculated from Slippery Rock or Wilmington Area High Schools.

A one page letter of application should include a discussion of your interest in mathematics and career goals.  Include the names and addresses of two mathematics references.

Amount:

up to $500, renewable

Carolyn Steglich Scholarship

Criteria:

Applicant must be a full-time student majoring in the natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics or geosciences) or mathematics with a minimum 2.5 GPA.  Applicant must also demonstrate financial need and have completed at least 24 credits by the beginning of the award year. This scholarship is renewable.  Eligible students must also submit a short essay stating how their degree is important preparation for future career plans.  Letters of recommendation will be considered.

Hubert C. Voltz Scholarship

Criteria:

Awarded to a mathematics major with at least a 3.3 GPA.  Applicants should have completed or be enrolled in Math 231 and Math 235 at the time of application.  Applicants should be making reasonable progress toward completion of a degree in mathematics.  

A one page letter of application should include a discussion of your interest in mathematics and career goals.  Include the names and addresses of two mathematics references.

Clair W. McClure

Criteria:

Awarded to a mathematics major with at least a 3.3 GPA.  Applicants should have completed or be enrolled in Math 231 and Math 235 at the time of application.  Applicants should be making reasonable progress toward completion of a degree in mathematics.
